Make your own frosting! Vanilla, chocolate, butterscotch or lemon!
For 4 Batch(es)
BASIC RECIPE - Using a fork, blend icing sugar and butter, while adding small amounts of milk, (no more than 1/2 teaspoon at a time) to make mixture wet. Continue to add milk sparingly until its well-blended and the mixture resembles a workable paste (not too runny but not too stiff).
For VANILLA ICING - add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla to Basic Recipe.
For CHOCOLATE ICING - add 3 tablespoons sifted cocoa and a bit more milk to Basic Recipe.
For BUTTERSCOTCH ICING - add 1/2 teaspoon butterscotch flavouring to Basic Recipe.
For LEMON ICING - add 1/2 teaspoon lemon flavouring to Basic Recipe.
Using a dinner knife, frost the sides of the cake, then the top.
