For best results, this dressing should be mixed with an electric hand-held blender.

Place egg, oils, lemon juice, garlic, dry mustard, tabasco, salt and pepper into a 2 cup measuring cup. Whip with a hand blender or whisk vigorously.
Wash and pat dry the lettuce. Lay the leaves on a cutting board and cut them into 1 inch pieces. Transfer the lettuce to a large salad bowl.
Ten minutes prior to serving, pour the dressing over the lettuce and toss. Add the bacon, croutons and parmesan cheese and toss again.
This salad can be prepared several hours before serving - make the dressing, prepare the lettuce and place in the refrigerator until needed. Toss just before serving.
