Ingredients

For 4 Serving(s)

Recipe

  • 1½ cup(s) all-purpose flour
  • 3½ teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 3 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 1¾ cup(s) milk, at room temperature
  • 1+ teaspoon(s) oil

Homemade Pancakes Directions

Sift flour in a large bowl. Add baking powder, salt and sugar, and toss thoroughly through the flour.

In a medium bowl, beat the egg, then add the melted butter and vanilla. Add milk. Whisk lightly.

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the milk mixture. Whisk until smooth.

Heat frypan on medium high heat setting and add a teaspoon of oil (add more oil as needed for each pancake). Add about 1/2 cup batter to pan, spreading it slightly. Cover. Cook each side until golden. The pancake is cooked if the centre springs up when pressed.

Serve with warm maple syrup.
