  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1½ lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 ribs celery, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. chili powder
  • ½ to 1 tsp. cumin
  • ½ tsp. dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 28oz/796ml tin crushed tomatoes
  • 1 28oz/796ml tin diced tomatoes
  • 1 19oz/540ml tin kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups uncooked spiral pasta

Chili With Pasta Directions

Add oil to a large saucepan. Add ground beef, onion, celery, carrots, garlic, chili powder, cumin, thyme and pepper. Cook until beef is browned and carrots begin to soften.

Stir in both tins of tomatoes, kidney beans, sugar and worchestershire sauce. Simmer about 20 minutes, until vegetables are tender.

Meanwhile, cook spiral pasta according to package directions. 

Drain pasta and stir into chili mixture. Serve with a green salad and fresh bread.
